Unmatted Print developed from Wifredo Lam’s Study for “The Jungle”, 1942, from The Art Institute of Chicago’s collection. 

Wifredo Lam merged Cubist and Surrealist ideas with spiritual imagery from his native Cuba, creating a body of paintings with a transcultural visual vocabulary.  This study belongs to a series of works related to The Jungle, Lam’s masterpiece and major statement about his rediscovery of African Cuba.
